Who needs the outside world when you can stay indoors, watch gamers play for a cause and maybe even donate some of your own hard-earned cash? The bi-annual charity marathon Games Done Quick has arrived for its summer event which brings the best speedrunners from around the world with all donations benefiting Doctors Without Borders.
For gamers, this is one of the most entertaining events of the year and it’s not much of a surprise knowing the amount of hours that these speedrunners put into mastering their game of choice. Finding glitches in broken games, ignoring the intended way of completing levels, and hitting that frame perfect technique; it all comes with months and months of practice.
If you’ve missed out on the first few days which included games like Spyro: Year of the Dragon, Bioshock, and a whole list of Mario titles, don’t fret because the rest of the program will quench your geeky thirst. Some upcoming speedruns include Super Meat Boy, Super Mario 64, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Crypt of the NecroDancer; for a full schedule, head over here.
