For those tabletop gamers out there who also enjoy playing the notoriously difficult Dark Souls video game, the developers at Steamforged Games have kicked off their crowdfunding campaign today to bring a board game version out to the public. As it turns out, this was a popular idea amongst a lot of people since they were able to reach their £50 000 goal within three minutes…you could make toast for breakfast with that time. But that doesn’t mean the campaign is over just yet; there are still 26 days left and plenty of stretch goals to entice backers into supporting the board game.
Dark Souls The Board Game is officially licensed and will include characters and classes that are faithful to its video game origins. Playable for up to four people, you’ll get the chance to battle monsters, explore dungeons and collect loot to your gaming pleasure. The game is designed to be played as a co-op, but you can also attempt the adventure alone.
If you haven’t pledged your hard-earned money on the Dark Souls board game, but would like to be the first of your circle of geeks to own it, head over to their official Kickstarter page and back the project. You will have to wait until April 2017 for the game to be delivered, although it’ll be well worth it once you open the Dark Souls universe on your table.
